Countdown to being a MRS: Wedding dresses!

So...

I'm engaged and will be 3 months on Saturday woo! and I'm well enjoying it. Had engagement party last weekend and I definitely had a good ol' time. Still smiling because of it and grateful to those who came out out and also my awesome friends and famo that worked hard that nighto pull things together and not forgetting my awesome Heavenly Father for blessing me with such great people and blessing me with my handsome fiance too :)

We had a greatime.

Candy of course

That night made it all sink in that bit more what will be taking place in under a year and all the wedding prep to and stuff...eish, big tings a gwarn!!

Been wedding dress shopping twice now. you know what? as fun and exciting as it was and is, mate!!! it was one tiring experience.

Firstime I went with my bestie who will be my *CBM of course. We had the day planned outo do constructive well thought out wedding dress research and of course my lovely bestie wanting to flex her CBM duty muscles organised the whole day.

Long story short, our massive hunt of 3 shops turned into one shop of exhausting proportions. Until that day I had no idea how much goes into wedding dress hunting (well I wouldn't - haven' been wedding planning before - duh!!). I was happy looking online and then thoughit would be easy..I was wrong!!

2 hours and 8 dress later, I had a bit more idea of what I'd like which totally did not reflect my online choices. The dress prices were like waaay over budget as lovely as the shop was and as helpful as the assistant was and as lush as the dresses were...I couldn't justify in my head spending the same price as the reception venue on a dress...so we arranged to go again to another shop where you do not have to make an appointment. As good as that may have sounded, it did mean less dresses and more waiting...so 4 dress and 2 hours later, I'm that little bit closer to finding 'The dress'. but I have this fear that cos I'm pretty much easily pleased I may not have that sort of dress of my dreams relationship as most brides-to-be does - will I have a that's 'the dress' moment? and if I don't is that a bad thing?

It's early days yet and though my wedding planner app is telling me I should order my dress by now, it may well be bought next year...no harm in that...I gotime right? :S

But yeah I'm excited and looking forward to doing and buying more wedding related things.

Until next blog...

Stay blessed

Bridey Out!!

  1. girl! don't play yourself on accident... ordering the dress takes time! and alterations take time! and a lot of designers get their dresses made in china and all the chinese shops shut down for like 2-4 weeks for chinese new year....so if you order next year you may not have a dress. just a heads up! love you!
